DSS Valves are a great fit in the Pulp and Paper industry where fiber in the pipeline is a common issue. The shearing tip can cut through these solids and internal gate guides prevent any blockage and warping, providing zero-leakage isolation. Rated up to ASME Class 900/PN 150 with full flow area and no cavities where media can build up, the DSS Severe Service Knife Gate Valves and Transmitter Isolation Valves can replace plug, ball, and wedge gate valves in pulp and paper applications.
DSS Valves unique gate sealing system creates a zero leakage system which is easily engaged with a few quick turns of a wrench, keeping employees safe from potentially harmful chemicals and process fluids

Why DSS? Problems and Solutions
Issue: Isolating water/filtrate/dilution in high and low pressures
Solution: DSS Valves are fully guided and the gate is always
in contact with the seat, this means the valve does not require process pressure to assist in isolation and will perform
zero-leakage in both high- and low-pressure applications.
Issue: High percentage pulp stock prevents conventional knife gate valves from sealing completely
Solution: DSS valves are fully guided meaning the
gate will not be deflected by high-density solids.

DSS valves are custom built using alloy components that are selected specifically for each application. When properly selected, the valves may last 400% or longer than competitors valves.
